Hello friends! Wow, can you all believe its 11.11.11? Isn't that crazy?
But it's also Veteran's Day! I'm so thankful for people that have died and fought, protecting our country, and those who continue to do so.
Is there a veteran that you know? Be sure and thank them for their bravery and service!

Exciting news!!
Hello everybody! Its Emmy. Hope October has got off on a good start for you all!
This afternoon, I had ballet rehearsals, as I do every Saturday. Well, today while I was at my studio, I got an invitation to a competition in Denver called "Denver Ballet Guild: Young Dancers Competition"!! It will be held in March. I'm very excited! I am hoping and praying that I'll be able to attend!
Have a fantastic rest of your weekend!

Somewhere in the Middle You'll Find Me
I'm riding the fence. College or home? I am torn.
College. This has proved to be a blessing in so many ways! Besides the obvious college education factor, I have also become way more prayerful and reliant on God for the small things in everyday life. I have met incredible friends. I have a good job. I enjoy my classes, for the most part.. ;) Chapel is amazing. I know completing a degree will help me, should I enter the work force. I even spoke with a man who works for a mission organization in Africa, and he told me about their need for Home-Ec-Education specialists to teach village people life skills! However I find myself feeling constantly surrounded, yet lonely. I don't feel like myself....but maybe this really is myself.....okay that's the extent of my philosophizing. Something doesn't feel right about being here on my own but having my parents paying for it and having to pay back colossal loans for it. Basically, I'm finding myself how I anticipated: desparately missing.....
Home. The whole reason behind my FCS-Ed major. SO MANY THINGS I miss (I won't go into listing them). SO MANY THINGS I would love to do there (maybe I'll share those later). Going back home would not mean becoming a lazy, couch potato, parasite. Nor does it mean letting my mind God has blessed me with go to waste. It is my goal and dream to become a domestic artist. I want to excel in the art of making a house a home; I want to be a blessing to my family and through them, other families. Why am I paying thousands and thousands of dollars to learn something my excellent homemaking mother can teach me through experience? What better way to learn about my passion, families, than to be engaged in my own? I would relish the opportunity to teach my sister and help her with her education. That right there would save us a couple dollars! Not paying private school tuition or private college tuition! I dream of broadening my sewing expertise, learning how to sew clothing and curtains! I want to learn more about gardening. I would love to learn home canning and preservation. I could acquire skills for financial management. The list goes on. Those skills could be taken to minister to others in Africa. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but a college degree is not necessary to teach over there.
Regardless of my situation and where I am, I still praise God! I'm thankful for Him being unchanging. He's the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He's the one constant in my life. There are so many things to praise Him for that I don't even have time to waste pining for what I don't have. I have made the decision to CHOOSE JOY and delight in the Lord's love!

Looking for a good book?
Hey friends! Emmy here.
Last week I got a great book at the library called "A Voice in the Wind" by Francine Rivers. (It's the first one in a series called "Mark of the Lion".) It's about a Roman servant girl, during early Christianity times, and how she clings to God and her faith, to get her through tough times. I'm not finished with it yet, but so far, it's a good one!

How is everyone's week? We want to hear from you all!
Good evening, friends! It's Emmy! This week at my school, it's Homecoming week! (also called spirit week.) There's a theme for every day, so everyone dresses with the theme to show their school spirit! Today was "Twisted Tuesday" and tomorrow is "Twin Day". It's fun to see everyone's outfits and creations that they come up with!
Also this evening, Libby went to a mixer for a social service club there at Harding. She said it was great! Hope college is a blast, Libby!
So how are you guys? How has your year been so far? What have y'all been up to?
Send us a message or comment below! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Coming to you live from Arkansas!
I am so sorry for being so hit-and-miss with my posting....I guess I'm not a very faithful blogging pal. I am now at college! I miss my family VERY much, but I'm really enjoying my experience here so far. It's a great school and I also have a great job in the Admissions Office! The whole schedule thing really agrees with me as well. Every day except for Tuesday I am finished by one, so that is all together fine with me!
Two exciting things from today: 1) I gave a tour of the campus to a girl and her dad who were visiting. 2) I went to a thrift store where clothes were a quarter, shoes and purses were 50 cents, and books were 25-50 cents!
Also, before I forget: does anyone do Pinterest? I just started yesterday. I must say it might be detrimental to me! ;) It is the most fun site ever! Pretty much people post pictures from blogs they like on "Pinboards" and you can go through and make categorized boards and look at pictures from other people's. Then you can pin them to your own. I am having so much fun with it! Check it out!
This is what you can get at a thrift store for $7.75:
5 shirts
3 skirts
1 pr. basketball shorts
2 pairs of shoes
1 purse
2 pairs of earrings
4 books
1 CD
1 silly wall hanging for a gag gift :)
1 basket
I think "Paws Inn" will be my new Saturday morning hang-out! haha!
I hope you all have a lovely Saturday afternoon. Go enjoy the outdoors or spend time with your family and watch some college football! Many blessings, friends!

Wow, what a week! (and now for a 3-day weekend!)
Hello friends! It's Emmy!
Well, I've started ballet classes at my new studio!
I am exhausted after this week of dancing and schoolwork. It's been a few months since I've been in a ballet class, so I had some sore muscles the first couple of days.
But it was a good week, and I'm super excited to announce that I will be a part of the senior division of a company called Colorado Youth Ballet! My first rehearsal with CYB will be Saturday afternoon! :D
Also on Saturday, we have some dear friends from San Antonio, coming to stay with us for a little bit, over Labor Day weekend!
And last but not least, this Saturday, college football! It's game time! The Oklahoma Sooners (our favorite team, because we're from Oklahoma) will be playing their first game of the season against Tulsa! BOOMER SOONER!!!
I hope everyone has a fun, safe, and blessed Labor Day weekend!
